Metro Expo Line Grand Opening: New Train Line Will Connect Culver City to Downtown LA

After 20+ years in Los Angeles I find my town is finally turning into an actual city and I couldn’t be more excited. The subway has arrived. Actually it’s an El train and not only is it here, but it’s growing.

This Saturday is the grand opening of the Metro Expo Line that connects Culver City with Downtown L.A. 7th Street Metro Center. For now the train is running between La Cienega Blvd. at Jefferson and 7th St. Metro Center with the Culver City stop opening soon. Eventually this line will connect the beach to downtown L.A. I’m already looking forward to not having to deal with parking at the beach, but that’s still some time from now.

What does it mean to be green? This is a question that is becoming more and more relevant in all of our lives. This past Saturday I had the pleasure of attending a tour sponsored by the US Green Building Council at The Green Idea House in Hermosa Beach.

The Green Idea House currently under construction and it is being built as a net-zero house meaning that the house will harvest more energy than it uses.
